Space Cadet is a cosy haven of good vibes serving coffee and breakfast from the sixth ‘shed’ of Lovegrove Lane, a block of owner operator businesses off Grey Street in East Hamilton. This coffee oasis is light and sunny, decorated with 80s and 90s knick-knacks that will leave you reminiscing over hours spent at the arcade.
Well known for their house-made cabinet goodies, like cinnamon buns, lamingtons, delicious savoury scones (think caramelised onion and feta or jalapeno and cheddar) and ginger loaf, there are plenty of gluten-free and vegan options to choose from too. Space Cadet also has a breakfast and brunch menu that includes luxury toasties, bagels, croissant eggs benedict and more.
What began as donuts and coffee has quickly developed into a full, thriving cafe that feels like a retro getaway. Space Cadet serves Rocket coffee and Tea Total tea, while Karma sodas, Almighty juices, and Something Big is Brewing kombuchas are well stocked in the fridge. They also do pour overs and chemex for the coffee connoisseurs. There are a number of cosy tables inside, as well as a small outdoor area where you can enjoy a dose of Vitamin C with your coffee.
