Wandering around Havelock North, it’s hard to miss the bright-fuschia-pink facade of the pizza café and local favourite Pipi. A stalwart on the Hawke's Bay food scene for a number of years, you can feel the heart and soul that's been put into this place. Eating here truly feels like you’re dining at a friend’s house.

As soon as you walk through the front doors of Pipi, your senses are immediately enveloped by the delicious smells coming from the kitchen and the pretty and plentiful shades of pink that decorate the café. From the cosy dining room inside to the outdoor courtyard that is the place to be in the summertime, there is warmth and hospitality here in spades. Whether you are dining in or popping by quickly to pick up a takeaway, you will always feel welcomed by the Pipi family.

The pizzas and food are legendary around town, with many elements made from scratch on the premises: the pizza bases, the hand-rolled gnocchi, and the ladyfingers for the tiramisu. The pizza menu is that perfect blend of classic flavours everyone knows and loves, with a few unique options thrown in. Flavours and combinations hero local and seasonal produce and allow the head chef plenty of room for creativity.

Even though pizza is the main event at Pipi, they also have a range of mains and specials that change often, plus a dessert menu that you definitely want to save room for. To accompany your meal, there is an extensive wine list that showcases nearby vineyards and the wider Hawke’s Bay region. They also have offerings from local gin legends Hastings Distillers—it is highly recommended to enjoy an aperitif of their L’Opera.

Pipi is a great place to gather with friends and family, share some pizza, and wine and good times.
