24 Bay Dr, Tītahi Bay, Porirua

A beautiful beach deserves a beautiful café, and thankfully for Tītahi Bay residents, Aloha Friday is barely a stone’s throw from the water’s edge.

Situated across the road from the beach, Aloha Friday is perfectly positioned as a caffeine stop. In an area known for its stunning natural sights, Aloha Friday offers a splendid splash of human creativity, with some local flavours thrown in for good measure.

The frontage will immediately capture your attention, with a bright red door standing out from the jet-black exterior. The interior is a spotless white, except for the eye-catching island designs in vibrant colours adorning the wall behind the counter. The counter itself, with its woven pattern, is another homage to the island influences that shape Aloha Friday.

The sweet treats cabinet boasts the likes of pastries, tarts and scones, and on Saturdays there’s a fresh bread drop from Aro Bake so you can grab a nice honey ciabatta, sourdough, or other loaf for your weekend. As well as being a handy coffee spot, Aloha Friday serves as the gallery for co-owner and former Tall Fern Tania Tupu, renowned for her jewellery design and making prowess. Her Māori and Pacific-inspired pieces are displayed for easy viewing while you wait for your Raglan Roast brew—a trinket to go with your cuppa?

A homely little spot where the locals come to kōrero, Aloha Friday perfectly epitomises the character of Tītahi Bay—fitting, then, that it's right on the beach’s doorstep.
