Newtown can be a pretty interesting place, and if you’re in need of a little respite from the melting pot of busy people out there, you’ll be pleased to hear Frank’s offers exactly that. Frank’s Newtown is a little replica of its sibling café on The Terrace (although slightly more coffee-orientated), and has found itself to be a quickly loved part of Newtown culture.
The brews are quality, with coffee chosen by their experienced baristas daily. Set up with a double filtration system for the water and with a La Marsocco PB for making high quality espresso beverages, you can rest assured you’re in safe hands at Frank’s Newtown when it comes to ordering an exquisite cup of caffeine.
If you are wanting to try out the barista life at home too, you can buy beans by the bag, and while you’re there why not pick up a bottle of Almighty or Bootlegger Soda and really stock up on your Wellington-made goods.
And if you're in need of a bite to eat, you're in luck. With treats from Leeds Street Bakery, Vandough Cookie and vegan Porno donuts, as well as bagels from Best Ugly and loaves from Wellington Sourdough - Frank's supports other local businesses and your tummies too.
Don’t get frazzled over the lack of a printed menu, as everything you need is right there on the counter, from sandwiches to doughnuts and the city famous cookies from Leeds Street Bakery – good luck coming in for just a coffee and resisting all that. Clean cut and simple, there’s no room for big boisterous groups here, but that’s half the charm of the place anyway.
Planning on wandering in? Look out for the peace fingers sign outside, which is a pretty apt gesture to be making coz this place sure is chill.
