Luisa Farah Jewellery

3 Market Lane, Wellington Central, Wellington

At Luisa Farah Jewellery in Wellington, every piece begins as an idea shaped by curiosity, craftsmanship, and a fascination with form, before being carefully brought to life by hand.

Originally trained as an architect in Mexico, Luisa arrived in New Zealand intending to stay for just a year. Nine years later, Wellington has become home - thankfully - and the design principles that once informed buildings now influence a distinctive collection defined by clean lines, thoughtful proportions, and sculptural simplicity.

Working from a shared jewellery studio on Market Lane, Luisa creates her collections alongside a community of fellow makers. The contemporary setting provides a contrast to the traditional craftsmanship taking place at the bench. Visits are by appointment, offering customers the chance to step inside the studio, meet the maker, and gain a rare insight into how each piece is designed and finished. It’s a personal experience that reflects Luisa’s genuine enjoyment of building genuine relationships with the people who wear her work.

Her collections are immediately recognisable for their confident use of shape and balance. Signature designs such as the Lulu and Ellie rings showcase her exploration of strong, unconventional forms, while pieces like the Josephine and Perla rings move beyond the classic circular band with striking square profiles. Earrings including the Perla and Petra designs highlight her love of open, minimalist shapes and negative space, creating jewellery that feels architectural without sacrificing wearability.

Every piece is designed and made in Wellington, produced in small batches and hand-finished in the studio. That commitment to thoughtful design and careful craftsmanship gives the collection a distinctive character, but it’s the connection between maker and wearer that leaves the strongest impression. In an era of mass production, Luisa Farah Jewellery offers something increasingly rare: fashion with a clear point of view, made by the person whose name sits proudly on the door.
