Sustainability Trust is a social enterprise with a big heart - working for a greener city and a fairer community.

Their headquarters is tucked away down Forresters Lane, just off the Courtenay Place end of Tory St. Here, dozens of people spend their days supporting Wellingtonians to be warmer, drier, and more sustainable.

It’s worth a visit for a few reasons – they’ve got a showroom of home products to increase your warmth and decrease your carbon footprint and expert staff on hand to advise you.

They offer information and advice about small, practical changes you can make in your day-to-day life to reduce your impact on the planet – everything from tips on home gardening, to making your home dry and healthy, to services that might reduce your workplace's footprint.

The neat thing about Sustainability Trust is that all the stuff they make money on goes back into the community – it’s used to fund programmes such as the Wellington Curtain Bank and Warm Fuzzies, which support low-income families to create warmer, healthier homes; and sustainability education programmes for schools and communities.
