If there’s one clothing store that really understands sustainability, it’s Untouched World. The aptly named brand has been nothing short of a pioneer when it comes to introducing New Zealanders to long-lasting, quality and truly ethically made clothes. The first and only fashion company in the world to be recognised by the United Nations for sustainability, Untouched World gets things right from the get-go. From sustainably grown fibres, to shoes made with wool from non-mulesed sheep, to GOTS certified organic dyes and water based prints, each and every bit of clothing here is designed to have as little impact on the planet’s resources as possible.

Where possible, all the garments in the collection are made in Christchurch, and if things have to be sourced overseas (organic cotton t-shirts for example), Untouched World only works with suppliers who share in their values and provide good working conditions for their employees.

The Untouched World Foundation runs programmes for young New Zealanders who have a passion to know more, see more and do more within their communities on the subject of sustainability. A percentage of every Untouched World purchase goes directly to the Untouched World Foundation, so you can rest assured you’re supporting young leaders while also filling your wardrobe with stunning, timeless pieces.

Untouched World also had the clever idea of making seasonal children’s collections with the offcuts from their adult pieces, further minimising waste and allowing parents to buy well for the small people in their life. You’ll find collaborations and collections from other likeminded companies instore too, KeepCup mugs, Lyttelton Lights candles and ceramics from The Busy Finch to name a few.
