Sitting pretty along the main strip, a trip to Annabel’s is mandatory when hanging around Ponsonby. Home to drinks and bites from 7am onwards, it’s the perfect stop for a caffeine hit or a lazy afternoon aperitivo.

In the early hours of the day, you’ll be greeted with the comforting scent of fresh coffee and a tasty breakfast selection. From miso granola to seasonal pastries—we’ll get out of bed for this one.

When lunch rolls around, wrap your hands around one of their mouth-watering sandwiches. From stuffed baguettes to loaded rye or sourdough, the hardest part is choosing what to devour!

As happy hour sets in, you know this is the place to be. From 4pm onwards, the team serve a delectable aperitivo menu with bites like Sicilian olives, nduja, prosciutto and Portuguese cheese bread. Or, stop by for the Chef’s Menu, going down Wednesday through Saturday—you had us at Te Kuoma Bay oysters.

Of course, Annabel’s has a well-earned reputation for its wine selection. They’re proud to offer a choice of vino crafted by winemakers with a focus on natural processes and biodiversity. So one thing is for sure—come ready to sample a few sips.

You’re covered across the board, from a Kiwi Savvy B to a refreshing rosé or a well-rounded red. And the good times don’t stop there—Annabel’s is also a bottle shop, so why not take your favourite sip home with you?

For a classic Ponsonby night out, you won’t want to miss one of Annabel’s pop-ups or events. Keep your eyes peeled on their Instagram, where you’ll spot one-off foodie collaborations or upcoming DJ sets.
