A true gem of the Hutt Valley, Rawson Brothers is an exceptional jewellery store and workshop that brings the expertise and class of Hatton Garden to Upper Hutt. Spearheaded by David Rawson, a local trade-certified goldsmith and diamond grader who’s worked in London’s famous jewellery district, it’s a go-to spot for expert service and advice on all things jewellery.
A compact and intimate space, the minimal yet welcoming design of the store exemplifies the Rawson Brothers ethos: genuine relationships, personalised service, and complete transparency. A clean, wooden aesthetic paired with a tidy, open-plan layout keeps distractions to a minimum, allowing you to fully focus on the shelves of jewellery on display. At the rear of the store, you’ll spot the workshop itself, where David can be seen beavering away on his latest projects. Black-and-white photos of Hatton Garden adorn the walls, paying homage to David's formative years in London. Hanging just above his busy desk, they’re a timeless reminder of the world-class standards he holds himself to.
Everything you see in the workshop was built by David himself in his garage - because, like all great ideas, Rawson Brothers started in his garage.
In addition to bespoke creations, Rawson Brothers offers a curated selection of handcrafted pieces, all made with care in the on-site workshop. David’s favourites include the Smith Street Spinel & Diamond Ring and his range of sapphire rings, crafted with uniquely cut sapphire from Rubyvale in Australia.
It’s no wonder that Rawson Brothers has garnered a loyal following across the Wellington region over the years. Whether you're seeking a unique piece of jewellery, need a cherished item repaired, or have a bespoke project to bring to life, Rawson Brothers provides exceptional craftsmanship in a warm and welcoming setting.
