Summer is officially here, and local favourite Six Barrel Soda has opened their Lukes Lane soda factory to the public for a cellar door experience like no other. Reminiscent of their hugely popular Eva St Soda Shop, this is the place to have a free taste and try each of their 20+ flavours for the ultimate refreshment and brief reprieve from the heat of a Wellington “you can’t beat it” day.

Marvel at the vintage presses and squeezers, take in the smells of fresh and fruity natural soda syrups and witness the factory in action as orders are packed and flavours are concocted. The viewing window will keep you and the little ones transfixed while tastings are poured to help find the perfect soda for you. If Instagram is your thing there’s also a prime photo op wall (in a lovely green colour to match the impressive resident snake plant) so you can make your social media chums envious as you sip on the good stuff.

Also available is a range of Six Barrel merch and accessories so you can look as great as you feel (such as embroidered tees, enamel soda magnets, metal straws and other paraphernalia). If mix-your-own syrups aren’t your thing you can grab a cold bottle of the ready-to-drink variety. A bright and open space right in the heart of Wellington’s CBD, this is the perfect spot to begin your day in the sun or wind down after an afternoon at the beach.
