For a town of 15,000 people, Havelock North seriously punches above its weight with regard to the number of stunning boutiques, incredible second-hand clothing finds and artisan producers that have set up shop here.

Havelock Road is a gold mine of shopping destinations to visit when you’re in Havelock North. The first of these is The Hanger. This is the place to go to get your sustainable shopping fix, and you never know what absolute finds there’ll be in store. Alongside recycled designer fashion pieces, there’s also a small range of vintage and handmade New Zealand homewares, so it’s the perfect chance to find something for your abode as well.

The Hawke’s Bay region is known for being home to many incredible coffee roasters and in Havelock North, there happens to be two of the best. Take this shopping opportunity to stock up on some freshly roasted beans and any other coffee paraphernalia you might need from either Hawthorne Coffee Roastery or Workroom (operated by Firsthand Coffee). And while you are making the stop off, you may as well order a cup to enjoy and perhaps a pastry from Ya Bon (both cafes proudly stocking the French bakers' goods in their cabinets), after all, you can work up an appetite when you’re out shopping!
