Calling all the sweet tooths out there! But First Dessert is a dessert bar in Tauranga, specialising in decadent, hand-crafted desserts and treats.

Born from the frustration of skipping an entree to save room for dessert, only to be disappointed by an apparent lack of effort, But First Desserts focuses on doing one thing really, really well, that thing (obviously) being high quality desserts.

The Chocolate Lava S’more has been on the menu since day dot, and there’s a genuine concern of eventuating chaos if it were ever to be removed. Picture chocolate lava cake, torched Italian meringue, honeycomb, raspberry and vanilla ice cream all married together in a bowl of indulgent deliciousness, and it’s not hard to see why!

The profiteroles and lemon meringue tarts are also crowd favourites, and there’s a whole menu dedicated to the young ones. And in addition to the sweet treats (not that there can ever be too many), there’s a barista on site and it’s also licensed, so you can enjoy a freshly made coffee or cocktail alongside your dessert.

But First Dessert is designed to be a space where you can pop in on a whim, relax, and enjoy unique desserts that you won’t find anywhere else in Tauranga. It strives to bring something different to the CBD, somewhere that people consider their true destination.  But First Dessert is also known to host events such as High Teas and birthday parties, check their website for options and availability. And with an endless delectable menu that adapts to the season, there will always be something new to try.
