Step inside the beautifully curated Husk Home store and you won’t know where to focus your eyes first.

There’s a peacefulness to the fit out, as gorgeous objects sit in their colour co-ordinated spots and dried florals hang from the roof, creating a sophisticated yet down-to-earth kind of mood, perfect for Kaikōura.

Run by a mother-daughter duo Linda and Lysandra Broughan, Husk is a collection of all the items these two would love to have in their own homes. Expect to immerse yourself in natural hues and to find a mixture of handmade products from small local makers (think beautiful handmade ceramics by Claybird & Goodwin for example) sitting side by side with established New Zealand brands like Città, Saben, Foxtrot Linen and Karen Walker. On top of local products, there are a number of carefully selected imported goods such as Status Anxiety bags, The Horse leather goods and Will & Bear wool hats.

Whether you’re after a gift for a special someone or an object to brighten your own day, there’s plenty of special finds waiting to be discovered at Husk. If you’re lucky you might even get to meet Lysandra’s Siberian Husky Kodah, the inspiration behind the name of the store.
