This iconic store has been running for nearly twenty years under the same ownership and Wayne, the man behind the store, is as passionate about his trade as he was when he first opened the doors in 2004.

Whether you’re after some apparel (there’s a huge variety of merchandise designed by Wayne himself plus popular surf brands), a new surfboard, just some nuts and bolts or help repairing a ding – you’ll find it all right here.

Just like the true surf stores in Hawaii that Wayne modelled his shop on, Kaikōura Surf Company prides itself on providing customers with knowledge and advice, and not merely existing as a retail outlet. You can also rent a surfboard and wetsuit or even a paddleboard to take out around the corner – a unique way to experience the abundant marine wildlife in Kaikōura. Look up and you’ll find a number of old school boards showcased along the walls of the shop, with the collection constantly growing.
